WHAT TO EXPECT ON AUCTION NIGHT

Free and open to the public. Very user friendly process. Bidders simply register upon arrival and get a bidder number. Pay with cash, checks or credit card.

The auction is staffed by the professionals at Raleigh Auction plus volunteers from SAFE Haven.

Expect a very fun and exciting evening including a prize drawing and a few choice items for silent auction. Everyone who attends the auction will be entered into a drawing for a 14k gold and diamond tennis bracelet valued at $3,100. We will draw for the prize at 8 pm and you do need to be present to win.

Cats available for adoption from SAFE Have will join us for the evening and we will also provide information and educational materials.

Refreshments: We will be serving home baked sweets, pizza and drinks for a nominal donation.

BENEFITS FOR DONORS

Help SAFE Haven and help yourself:

  • You may be eligible for a tax deduction for the fair market value of your donation. Not what it sells for but the value you place on it. Tax receipts available.
  • Feel great about actively doing something tangible about pet overpopulation.
  • A chance to redecorate and get rid of items you no longer need, have duplicates of, or just don't want!
  • Help the planet. Live a smaller life, downsize, live with less, contribute less to the landfills, have less possessions to maintain.

EVENT HISTORY

2010 Marks our 6th Anniversary for the Raleigh Auction and Estate Sales Benefit.

At the 2009 event, we raised $9,965.60 thanks to the generosity of our donors and volunteers.

Kathy Mitchell, the owner of Raleigh Auction and Estate Sales, has been donating one evening of her very busy schedule for SHFC since 2005. In true feline support, the five cats who live at the auction house even put in a guest appearance on auction night!

Auctioneers, Joe Veasy and Cheri Faux have donated their time along with other staff members and SHFC volunteers. After a very small commission to the house, SHFC averages $8,000+ in earnings. With your generous donations and participation at auction, we hope to increase our earnings even more.

Past auction items donated to SHFC have included used automobiles, fine jewelry, art, quality furniture, antiques, memorabilia and more.
